New Ubisoft franchise delayed

Ubisoft has pushed back the launch of a new, unannounced franchise until the next financial year.

The unknown project was intended for release before the end of the current financial year in March 2014, but now it won't see the light of day until next April at the earliest.

Ubisoft still has plenty of titles coming soon though, with a new Assassin's Creed game and Watch Dogs dropping in 2013, while The Crew is expected at the start of 2014.

Action-MMO The Division is also set for a release in the second half of 2014.

Earlier this week Ubisoft marketing man Tony Key claimed that the publisher doesn't start work on a new game unless it can be turned into a franchise.
