Far Cry 3 director's next game revealed

Ubisoft has announced the latest game to come from Far Cry 3 director Patrick Plourde, a 2D downloadable title called Child of Light.

The details were revealed at a panel during GDC Europe, where it was also confirmed that Child of Light would be created using the same engine as the one used for Rayman Origins.

It will involve turn-based battles as well as platforming, and the art style is said to represent the concept art for early Final Fantasy games.

Platforms are yet to be announced, but Plourde describes the game as a "potential next-gen IP".
