Square Enix has taken down the digital version of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn due to server issues.
The MMO went on sale earlier this week but due to an "overwhelmingly positive" response players are facing unbearably long waiting times.
"As a temporary measure, we will halt sales of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn's digital download products so we can accommodate all of those wishing to play," said Square on its Facebook page.
"We are working to expand our server capacity in the coming days.
"We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this causes."
Square is hoping to have the digital version back in stores as soon as possible.
It was confirmed at E3 that Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn would be heading to the PlayStation 4 in 2014.
