Titanfall "not gunning" for other shooters
Upcoming Titanfall is not trying to compete against any other first-person shooter on the market, according to Respawn community manager Abbie Heppe.
A lot has been made of Titanfall's impressive gameplay demos recently, which allowed players to test out the fast and furious action.
Heppe claims that while there is a lot of competition, Titanfall is a new IP and as such the developers are just trying to do their own thing.
"I'd like to think that we're really doing our own thing with Titanfall," she told ArabicGamers.
"We're not really gunning for anyone. I mean, you're always in competition, it's a crazy space and there's a lot of other shooters. But we also play them because we like them, we play Battlefield.
"Look, if gamers like what they see and they want to buy it then I think that that's awesome."
Heppe said that Titanfall was about getting the word out, before hinting that sequels could be coming if it's a success.
"We know that we're a startup, we've got to get the word out," she added.
"We're competing against all these other franchises that have had multiple iterations. So we'll see where this one takes us."
Titanfall arrives on the Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC in 2014.
