No external storage for Xbox One at launch

Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox One can support up to eight controllers at the same time, but the console won't have external storage at launch.

The Xbox 360 only supported four controllers at once, while Sony has yet to announce how many controllers the PlayStation 4 can support.

Meanwhile Microsoft's Major Nelson revealed that the Xbox One's capability to make use of external storage won't be a feature at launch.

"My understanding is that feature will not be there at launch because the team is working on some other things, but it definitely is on the list," he said in a podcast.

"I don't know when it will come in though."

It was also confirmed that the Xbox One controllers could operate from a maximum distance of nine metres.
