Rock Band iOS will not shutdown

Rock Band iOS will not be shut down, despite reports claiming the servers for the game will be shutting on 31 May.

The news came as a result of an in-app message stating that the game would "no longer be playable" even if you owned it. Publisher EA later backed up the in-app message on its website in the FAQ section stating the publisher would be "suspending support of ROCK BAND after May 31 and focusing resources on other EA titles."

EA has since released a statement to Cnet saying that it was an "error" on their part and that "Rock Band for iOS will remain live - the in-app message users received yesterday was sent in error.

"We apologize for the confusion this caused. We're working to clarify the issue that caused the error and will share additional information as soon as possible."

Despite this, EA has been looking closely at its iOS apps and culling what isn't cutting the grade. It was only a few weeks ago that it shut servers for Battlefield 3: Aftershock because of poor quality.
