Next-gen means more money is needed, says The Crew dev

Games on the next-generation of consoles will require more money and bigger teams to reach their potential, according to The Crew creative director Julian Gerighty.

Many people are excited about the possibility of what the next-generation can bring, whether that be better visuals or huge, connected game worlds.

Gerighty claims that the possibilities are exciting, but there's going to be a whole lot of effort needed to make the most of them.

"For me it just means we have more things to play with," he told ArabicGamers when asked about next-gen development.

"It hasn't really changed the development process. I mean, there are some new toys that are interesting.

"But it just means that we need bigger and bigger teams, and more and more time, and more and more money to be able to do great games.

"But the possibilities now are really exciting."

The Crew is hitting next-generation consoles and PC in 2014.
