Forza dev: We're in a different space to other racers
Forza Motorsport 5 is in a "different space" compared to other racing titles, according to creative director Dan Greenawalt.
Forza 5 is just one of many upcoming driving games launching on Xbox One in the coming months or at the beginning of 2014.
However Greenawalt doesn't see the competition as a bad thing at all, claiming that he wants to see other racing games do well.
"I'm in a very unique position, being the creative director of Forza Motorsport," he told ArabicGamers.
"Turn 10 is a Microsoft division, so to me I'm not looking to compete with people that are on our box. I want racing to be a vibrant place.
"So if people come to Xbox One to play one of our competitors, that's great! Honestly I want more people into cars and into racing on Xbox One."
Greenawalt went on to say that Forza 5 is an ambitious title with "epic scope and scale" that couldn't be matched right now.
"These other games, that's really not their ambition. And that's great, we're not criticising, we're just kind of in a different - a different league is the wrong term - we're in a different space.
"And I want them there, I want them to bring people to our console."
Greenawalt also had some words for racing games on rival platforms.
"As far as what other consoles are bringing the truth is, ultimately, I guess I've kind of aged in this job, but I want people excited about cars and games.
"So I actually believe the division I have is very similar to the divisions other people have in other companies.
"I don't want to compete with them, I want us all to succeed. I think racing is in a very good space right now, and that's good for car lovers and it's good for gamers alike."
