GTA Online coming today
Rockstar has confirmed that GTA Online will be available to play later today.
The mode should go live around 11am GMT, when a small title update should be available to download from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
After downloading and installing the update players should have direct access to GTA Online by using the bottom slot in the GTA5 character wheel.
GTA Online is set a few months before the events of the main story in GTA5, and Rockstar has designed it so that players can't wreck havoc on each other's properties.
"If someone invites you into their property, then it is considered a friendly visit and you will not be able to shoot up their place or steal their cars from their garage," said Rockstar.
"By the way, in any given lobby, if you and another player own the same piece of property, you will each be able to enter your own personal instance of that property at any given time.
"You will also be able to enter each other's instance of that property if you exchange and accept an invite. This way, multiple instances of ownership of the same property within a lobby can co-exist."
Rockstar has previously claimed that it expects GTA Online to experience a few teething problems initially.
