Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes out spring 2014

Konami has revealed an official release window for Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes of spring 2014.

Ground Zeroes will serve as a prologue to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, introducing new gameplay ideas that are fully featured in the sequel.

Your task in Ground Zeroes is to infiltrate a Cuban prison camp.

"The advanced capabilities of the FOX Engine have allowed me to tell the story in a new way," said series creator Hideo Kojima.

"There will be a significant difference in what The Phantom Pain brings to the series, so we want to ease players into the new open world environment and its potential.

"As such, Ground Zeroes has been designed to introduce key elements, allowing them to fully benefit from all that the new game will offer."

Ground Zeroes is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.
