The Xbox One will come with the Xbox Music app, allowing users to stream tracks if they purchase a pass.
To buy an Xbox Music Pass you'll need an Xbox Live Gold account, then you can listen to a large selection of music without any advertising breaks.
Users can also choose try out the service first by streaming 15 songs for free, but after that they'll have to decide whether to buy a pass or not.
Microsoft executive Albert Penello confirmed the news on Twitter.
"I was wrong about Music on XboxOne," he wrote. "You get 15 free song plays then need Music Pass for ad-free streaming. No ad-supported streaming. Sorry!"
