PS4 Trophies classified by rarity
Sony has released new details of the Trophies system for the PlayStation 4, revealing that they are now classified by rarity.
Trophies will still come in bronze, silver, gold and platinum, but they now also fall into a second set of categories: common, rare, very rare or ultra rare.
The rarity of a Trophy is defined by how many players have earned it, and that's calculated online across the PlayStation user base.
The rest of the Trophy system will be familiar to regular PlayStation 3 users, with players earning Trophies to fill a bar and upgrade their numerical rank.
The PS4 Trophy interface will also list Trophies that players have earned across the PS4, PS3 and PlayStation Vita.
