Forza Motorsport 5 economy changing
Turn 10 has revealed that the economy in Forza Motorsport 5 is receiving a bit of an overhaul.
Yesterday we published a piece looking at microtransactions and their negative impact on recent releases, with Forza Motorsport 5 being one of the guilty parties. It seems as though the guys at Turn 10 were listening to feedback from fans and have now decided to do something about it.
Community manager Brian Ekberg wrote a post on the Forza blog saying that changes are indeed going to be made.
"Your Turn 10 team continues to value the input of our Forza community, and we keep a careful eye on in-game data that shows how players progress through our games," he explained.
"Based on the numbers we've seen from our first week of FM5, as well as feedback we heard directly from you, we're in the process of making some changes to the Forza Motorsport 5 economy."
These changes won't be implemented for a little while yet, so for now players are being given a handful of offers.
- 50% off every car in the game from Friday 30 November to Monday 2 December.
- VIP members to receive a free Lotus 2013 E21.
- VIP members who already have the Lotus will get a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO instead.
- Players who purchased the LaFerrari Car Pack or Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass will get 2013 LaFerrari directly to their garage.
- Credit payouts for Forza Rewards to increase dramatically in December.
The studio also claimed that further changes will be made to the Forza 5 economy as and when they're needed, so you can probably expect even more changes in the new year.
