EA making an open-world Star Wars game?

The latest rumours coming out of the EA/Star Wars deal have surfaced, and this time they're pointing to an open-world title coming from EA Canada.

Job listings at the studio reveal that a position as an animation director has opened up, with the successful candidate to work on a "major new next gen open-world game".

At the time the studio's recruiter also revealed that this was a Star Wars project.

This would be the first time EA Canada has been linked with the Star Wars franchise. Only DICE (working on a new Battlefront), Visceral and BioWare have been said to be working on Star Wars titles, but it's possible EA Canada could be teaming up with another studio.

"Multi-site development" was actually mentioned in the animation director vacancy, while the ads for both EA Canada and Visceral are very similar.

Besides, open-world games take up a lot of resources and time, which is why their creation is often spread across many studios.

Could this be the second Star Wars game to come out of the EA deal? It certainly looks like it, but we'll update with more as soon as we hear it.
