Sony boss defends Gran Turismo 6 microtransactions
Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has claimed that the microtransactions in Gran Turismo 6 are "not a bad thing".
Some fans of the racing franchise are dismayed that microtransactions are making an appearance in the upcoming racer, fearing that they could ruin the structure of the game.
However Yoshida says there is nothing to worry about and microtransactions are just there for people who don't have as much time to play.
"The game is just offering an alternative path to busy people," he said on Twitter. "Read reviews when they come out.
"Microtransaction per se is not a bad thing, how the game is designed around it could become a problem."
Gran Turismo 6 isn't the first big racing title to offer controversial microtransactions. Earlier this year, much was made of Forza Motorsport 5's implementation of them.
Gran Turismo 6 launches 6 December.
