Minecraft hitting PS3 this week

Mojang has revealed that Minecraft will finally launch on the PlayStation 3 later this week.

Now PS3 owners will get to experience the phenomenon that is Minecraft from 18 December.

Apparently the PS3 version will also be similar to other console versions.

"They're pretty much identical to play, and will be developed in tandem from now on," said Mojang's Owen Hill on the PS Blog.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of Minecraft are also in development, but there's no word on a release date for those yet.
