Sony focusing on new IP more "than other platforms"
PlayStation president and CEO Andrew House has claimed that Sony is more focused on creating new IP than other platform holders.
The PlayStation 4 has now launched in many regions across the world, but at the moment there seems to be a lack of must-buy first-party games.
House believes that there is nothing to fear though, as Sony looks to establish new franchises in the very near future.
"In terms of sheer breadth and depth, we are in a better shape in terms of third party support for this console launch than certainly any I've ever launched," he told MCV.
"And I do think that the early consumer is going to buy in if they sense that there is a roadmap of great content that is going to come down the pipe.
"We are more committed to new IP establishment and delivery than most other platform holders out there."
One such new IP is The Order 1886, in development at God of War PSP studio Ready at Dawn and likely set for a 2014 release.
Microsoft's new IP line-up appears to be much stronger at the moment, with the likes of Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, Project Spark and Quantum Break all set to launch next year.
