DayZ standalone sells 172,500 copies in 24 hours
The standalone version of DayZ has managed to shift an impressive 172,500 copies in 24 hours.
The alpha version of the zombie survival game launched on Steam Early Access yesterday, and so far it's been incredibly well received.
"First day of DayZ (Alpha). Hours passed: 24. Copies sold: 172500. Survivors online: 142403. Bugs discovered: many. Work ahead: hard," wrote Bohemia CEO Marek Spanel on his blog.
Bohemia also predicted that it could take up to a year before DayZ reaches beta.
"We estimate that reaching Beta version with all key features present will take more than one year from current stage," read the game's description.
"All features and plans listed here are subject to change, we may add or remove features as seen fit during development process."
