Most anticipated games of 2014 - Part Two
Last week we brought you the first half of our most anticipated games of 2014, which included the likes of Watch Dogs and Destiny. Now we have even more of our top games to look out for, so check them out below.
inFamous: Second Son
The PlayStation 4 library might appear a little bare right now, but in a few months it'll have inFamous: Second Son added to it, a game that looks like it might be the console's first must-buy exclusive. There's a new protagonist who seems to be struggling with his superhero powers and from the trailers we've seen, it looks like it'll be a lot of fun to just blow things up in the fictionalised open world of Seattle, Washington.
Check out the gameplay trailer below for a taste of the action.
South Park: The Stick of Truth
This has been delayed so much that we're not sure if we're being foolish by placing it on our most anticipated list, but it just looks so good! Too good to be true, in fact, which is why we pinch ourselves every time we watch the latest gameplay trailer to make sure we're not dreaming.
It looks like a solid, turn-based RPG but with all the characters from South Park, and of course it’s written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone themselves, so it will be hilarious. We're just crossing our fingers that it won't be delayed yet again.
The Witcher 3
Quite possibly the best looking game to come out this year, The Witcher 3 is looking every bit the epic that the series deserves for its finale. A massive open world and gameplay that RPG fans the world over will love, this could easily end up on many people's game of the year lists in 12 months time.
Apparently the setting is 30 times larger than previous Witcher games, so players will have to use sailboats and horses to get anywhere in a hurry, and the developers are estimating that it'll take 100 hours to complete the main story and open world quests. We can't wait.
Everything from TellTale
TellTale might have had a relatively quiet 2013 but this year the studio has all hands on deck, with two new IPs in the works along with The Walking Dead Season Two and The Wolf Among Us. One of those new IPs is Tales from the Borderlands, a more narrative focused look into the crazy Borderlands setting and its characters.
The other is Game of Thrones, a little TV show that you might have heard of. Both games are massive for TellTale and we're both excited and cautious about what they have in store for us. If they don't rush out any haphazard episodes then players could be in for a real treat in 2014.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes/The Phantom Pain
When Hideo Kojima brings out a new game, everybody stops and pays attention. Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is the prologue to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and apparently it'll act as a tutorial to get players familiar with the new open world setting and controls. But even if it isn't quite the full experience we're still very excited to see what's in store here.
Also, the gameplay trailer with Snake riding on a horse in a beautiful open world is lovely. Just lovely.
