World of Tanks built for Xbox 360 due to large audience
Massively popular PC title World of Tanks made its way to the Xbox 360 due to the console's online ecosystem.
Xbox Live has generally been regarded as the best network for online gaming on a console, and the large amount of subscribing members is also very impressive.
Wargaming's Marvin Hall claims that the large amount of Xbox Live members was why World of Tanks headed there first.
"One thing to know about our game is that we need a large fanbase to make it work correctly," Hall told ArabicGamers.
"We need that online community for the console market. There are 48 million users on Xbox Live, so that's why it went there.
"There are 48 million users on the Xbox Live service, so those are all the people that we could potentially reach."
Hall was also cautious when discussing a PlayStation 3 version of World of Tanks, simply saying that Xbox 360 is all the studio is focusing on right now.
World of Tanks for the Xbox 360 is free-to-play in all regions around the world right now.
