The Last Guardian still "in the mix"
The Last Guardian is still "in the mix" and in development at Sony Worldwide Studios, according to PlayStation software product boss Scott Rohde.
The long-awaited PlayStation 3 exclusive had originally been scheduled to launch in 2011, before suffering a now infamous set of delays.
Some fans wonder if the game will ever see the light of day, but Rohde said The Last Guardian is still very much alive.
"You're going to be very frustrated by this answer," he told IGN, "but it is 100% the God's honest truth, and that is that we want to make great games.
"And when we see that the public is so interested in a specific game, of course that drives us to want to complete that game.
"But it also drives us to want to make it great. We would not want to ship that game if we don't think it's great."
Unfortunately Rohde said he couldn't make any announcements right now, but The Last Guardian is definitely coming at some point.
"[We're] not going to announce what platform it's coming on, who's working on it, who's involved. But that is still a title that's absolutely in the mix at Worldwide Studios. That's the most you're going to get."
The Last Guardian is rumoured to being re-engineered for the PlayStation 4 at this point.
