Xbox Entertainment announces Humans TV show

Xbox Entertainment is partnering up with the UK's Channel 4 to produce sci-fi series Humans.

There'll be eight hour-long episodes and they'll "share a premiere window" on Channel 4 in the UK and on Xbox in North America.

It'll debut in 2015, but Microsoft is keeping quiet for now on whether the show will broadcast in other regions.

Humans is set in an alternate present day where people share their homes with robot servants called Synths.

The show will follow an overworked father who purchases a refurbished second-hand Synth, but it houses a secret that has far-reaching and chilling consequences.

Humans is the second TV show to come from Microsoft's new entertainment initiative, following the Halo series that involves Steven Spielberg.
