GRID Autosport announced for PS3, 360 and PC

Codemasters has officially announced GRID Autosport, heading to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on 27 June.

GRID Autosport is aiming to "move the series back in line as a more authentic racing game" created off the feedback from GRID 2.

The career mode will have players competing across five different disciplines as they progress to become a professional racer.

"With GRID Autosport we had the opportunity to make a much more focussed motorsport game, a desire that many of you have expressed directly to us, and a game that in spirit goes back to some of our earlier titles in terms of content and handling," said Codemasters community manager Ben Walke.

Hardcore GRID fans will be happy to know that the cockpit view will also be making a return after it was left out of GRID 2.

GRID Autosport will not be appearing on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
