Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare announced, first details

Activision has released the first details for this year's Call of Duty, titled Advanced Warfare and releasing 4 November.

The publisher had intended to announce the news on Sunday, but brought things forward due to some leaks.

"Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise," read a description of the game.

A trailer was also released featuring House of Cards actor Kevin Spacey, and you can check that out below.

Advanced Warfare's futuristic setting means there'll be innovative weapons and soldiers wearing powerful suits that allow them to leap great distances.

Cloaked helicopters, wall scrambling, portable cover and hover bikes will also be included.

Sledgehammer is in charge of development for Advanced Warfare, breaking up the usual Treyarch/Infinity Ward cycle and hoping to bring something new to the franchise.

Platforms are yet to be announced but PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Advanced Warfare are a certainty.
