Nintendo denies E3 hardware reveal rumours
Nintendo has released a statement confirming it will not be revealing any new hardware at E3 next month.
Last week multiple sources claimed the company was gearing up to unveil new hardware - either a console or a peripheral - at the biggest games industry event in Los Angeles.
Nintendo initially refused to comment on the speculation, but now it has released a statement to clarify everything.
"I can confirm Nintendo is not revealing any hardware at this year's E3," read the official line.
A new home console announcement would have been a surprise but maybe not a shocking one, as the struggling Wii U continues to post dire sales figures compared to the PS4 and Xbox One.
Nintendo will be hoping upcoming big name releases such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. U will inject some life back into the console.
