Xbox boss Phil Spencer is promising new game and sequel announcements for Microsoft's E3 presentation next month.

Spencer has been very active on Twitter since his appointment as the head of Microsoft's Xbox division, and he was in the mood to reveal all kinds of details over the past few days.

One of the key pieces of information was that there might even be some announcements before the big event in June.

"Yea (sic), you'll get a couple of things before," wrote Spencer. "May should be a good month for news. Took me a month to get plans set."

Spencer said Microsoft is focusing on hardcore gamers for the show, and that means a reveal of the new studios the company is working with.

"I feel like what we will show this year is stuff we are committed to, from top studios, for this year and future," he added.

Halo is obviously one of the biggest games that people want to hear about, but Spencer isn't allowed to discuss anything developer 343 Industries is working on so we'll have to wait a little while longer for that.

Apparently Microsoft even thought about using the voice of Halo's Cortana for its E3 show, but Spencer didn't like the idea and it was eventually scrapped.

He also spoke about handheld consoles, saying we shouldn't expect one from Microsoft in the near future.

"I don't think we'll do a dedicated handheld gaming device, rather just focus on [Windows Phone], tablets, maybe with controller support someday."

Finally, a release date for the Xbox One version of Minecraft is close to being finalised.

Microsoft's E3 2014 show is due for 9 June, and ArabicGamers will be bringing you all the latest news as soon as it breaks.
