Halo 5: Guardians coming autumn 2015
Microsoft has revealed Halo 5: Guardians, coming to Xbox One sometime during autumn 2015.
The project is headed up by Halo 4 studio 343 Industries and aims to be a "massive and exciting" entry in the series.
"Halo 5: Guardians is a bigger effort than Halo 4," claimed 343 Industries general manager Bonnie Ross.
"That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what's now a brand new and more powerful engine.
"Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we've invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One's hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen."
Expect to hear much more on Halo 5: Guardians at E3 next month.
Meanwhile Microsoft also revealed that the Halo TV series would also be launching in 2015, as a show that will "compliment and enrich the game experience".
