Homefront: The Revolution coming in 2015

Deep Silver has announced Homefront: The Revolution, heading to PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux in 2015.

The Crytek-developed title is an open-world shooter set in Philadelphia four years after the events of the first game.

"Philadelphia - once the birthplace of Independence - has become a ghetto, where surveillance drones and armoured patrols keep the population at heel, crushing any dissent with savage force," said Deep Silver.

"Her once-proud citizens live in a police state, forced to collaborate just to survive, their dreams of freedom long since extinguished.

"But in the badlands of the Red Zone, in the bombed out streets and abandoned subways, a Resistance is forming. A guerrilla force, determined to fight for their freedoms despite overwhelming odds and ignite the second American Revolution."

A single-player campaign will have players fighting as part of the Resistance in a world that "responds to your actions".

You'll be able to inspire a rebellion on the streets, as "oppressed civilians take up the fight" and use different tactics against enemies in unscripted fights.

Support for four-player co-op will also be included, so you can team up with three others to form your own Resistance Cell and become known as Heroes of the Revolution.
