The Last of Us lead devs now on Uncharted 4

Naughty Dog has confirmed that The Last of Us co-leads Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann are now leading development on Uncharted 4.

Straley and Druckmann previously worked on Uncharted 1 and 2, while Naughty Dog bosses Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra said it was an easy decision to make.

"It was not a difficult transition at all," Wells told GameInformer. "Everybody just sort of accepted that as the new order of things and soldiered on.

"I mean we've been making enormous progress. If anything, things are accelerating instead of slowing down."

The move follows a host of developer departures from the studio, including Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig.

Wells said the big shake up at Naughty Dog "was not significant at all" and that the company is still going strong.

"To us, it's kind of strange because the perception and what's being reported is in stark contract to the feeling here at the studio," he added.

Finally, Wells revealed that Naughty Dog also has another large-scale project in the works, but it won't be announced for some time.

"We have a lot of great ideas and some stuff that is already getting everybody jazzed and excited. So, it's a long way off before we can really start talking about it in detail. But no [Bruce and Neil working on Uncharted] is not going to impact our ability to keep stirring that pot."
