Wasteland 2 not aimed solely at hardcore gamers
Wasteland 2 isn't aimed purely at the hardcore players who played the original for years, according to director Brian Fargo.
The post-apocalyptic RPG is the successor to 1988's Wasteland and was made possible through crowd funding on Kickstarter.
Fargo claimed although he loves the fact players still have fun with the original, the sequel won't be solely marketed to them.
"For sure, I want [the hardcore gamers] to be happy because nothing makes me more happy than making them happy," he told ArabicGamers.
"But it's not about making the game so that only the hardcore get it. There are going to be new people who start Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, and people who play and love XCOM: Enemy Unknown and those types of games, we want them to have fun too.
"I don't make it for the mass market, I make the game and let the chips fall where they may."
Fargo added that coming back to Wasteland after all this time was a strange experience, but definitely an enjoyable one.
"It's pretty surreal," he told us when asked about heading up the project.
"If you'd have told me after 25 years there'd be a sequel made, I'd have called you a liar! But it's a lot of fun."
Wasteland 2 launches in August for PC, and you can check out the trailer below.
