Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee reboot coming in 2013

Classic PSOne platformer Abe’s Oddysee will be getting a reboot next year.

A HD update of the game was originally in the works however that has now been scrapped and a brand new game has been announced.

A statement on the Oddworld Inhabitants Facebook page read: “Ok so here’s the skinny on ‘Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee’. We decided to reboot it, not just an HD update to the original PS1 title, this is a NEW game.

“It will be getting its first public showing LATER this year, with a release date of NEXT summer (2013).

“To extra clarify Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD, it is a remake of the original PS1 title, however we have started it from scratch using the original as a blueprint.”

There has been no news so far as to what formats the game will be available on.
