Steam hits 8 million concurrent user record

Steam had over 8 million concurrent users over the weekend for the first time in its history.
8,020,843 users were online at the same time at 16:03 PDT on Sunday, breaking the previous record of 7.5million in 2013.
The increase in users can be attributed to the Steam Summer Sale, which is happening right now and offers a variety of games at discounted prices.
In January Valve announced that Steam has more than 75 million active users, up 15% from just three months before.
