Assassin's Creed III details surface

The next instalment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise will see gamers flung into action during the American Revolution.

You take control of Connor, warrior son of a Native American mother and British father, who dedicates his life to the freedom of his clan.

The action will take place through blood-soaked battlefields, crowded city streets, perilous wilderness and even on the sea in the form of ship battles.

Connor will be drawn back into the centuries old battle between the Assassin’s Order and their sworn enemy, the Templars.

Connor must use predatory instincts to stalk his enemies before eviscerating them with a new arsenal of weapons including tomahawks, rope darts and firearms.

Over the course of the game Connor will encounter numerous historical figures including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson.

A new game engine introduces revolutionary physics and animations to the series, while the combat system has also been re-worked to deliver more intense battles than before.

A refined multiplayer system will also return including new characters, maps and modes.
