Xbox One sales double after ditching Kinect

Sales of the Xbox One doubled in the US following Microsoft's decision to release a bundle without Kinect.
Ditching the motion sensing hardware and an "amazing line-up of games announced during E3" led to a "strong spike in interest" for the console.
Official sales figures are yet to be announced.
The console has shipped a very respectable 5 million units since its launch last November.
However it still continues to play catch-up to the PlayStation 4, which has shipped a whopping 7 million units.
