Xbox One August update detailed
Microsoft has announced the changes coming to Xbox One in the August update, including a revamped friends area.
Friends will be available as a new tab on the Home screen and players can use it to view other people's current activity and top trending games.
A Gamerscore leaderboard is also being added so Achievement progress can be compared from the last 30 days.
However the Friends area won't be available to everyone at launch, as Microsoft is hoping to refine it over a period of time.
"We're doing an extended preview on this, rolling it into the early access preview this month to a subset of our preview audience so we can refine it until it's ready for the entire Xbox One market," said Microsoft.
The activity feed is also being changed to make it look more like Twitter, and you'll be able to "Like' and comment on updates.
As well as this there's going to be mobile purchasing, which lets Xbox One users remotely purchase games and DLC using Xbox Smartglass and Xbox.com.
The Blu-ray player app will now be able to play 3D Blu-rays too, and finally a low battery notification is being added to warn you when your controller's batteries are getting low.
A release date for the August update is yet to be confirmed.
