Bungie promises Destiny public events will offer variety
Bungie’s community manager, Deej; David Dague, has told ArabicGamers that players can expect a lot more from public events when the game is released.
In an interview at GamesCom, Deej expanded on the types of missions we could expect to see.
“There are war satellites that fall down from orbit that have wonderful intel we can glean about the golden age.
“There are mining operations that you’re supposed to sweep and clear.
“There are capital ships that spawn in over your destination, drop ships come in and deploy ground units. There are a lot of ways we want to surprise the players of Destiny.”
Asked why there weren’t many public events in the Beta, Deej said that we’d only seen the tip of the iceberg, we wouldn’t be disappointed and Bungie had “always wanted” to make this game.
“[W]e’ve worked with guys like Roger Wolfson and Chris Butcher, some of the original minds that actually contributed to the creation of Xbox LIVE. These guys are still at Bungie and have gone back to the drawing board and created new systems that support a game that we have always wanted to make.”
Deej also confirmed that what we’d seen in the beta so far was only one race in one environment.
“You have only seen the way the Fallen interact in public events, but there are different destinations which you have yet to visit, there are different alien races that you have yet to meet and engage, so Destiny still has a lot of surprises up its sleeve.”
It’s no surprise really, especially as Bungie has developed the game on its own systems, as we reported earlier in the week.
We’ll have our full interview and video up soon, but in the meantime check out more Destiny coverage right here.
