Xbox One November update to add custom backgrounds

The November system update for the Xbox One will give users the option to customise their backgrounds, as well as add expanded gamer profiles.

Initially users will only be able to set a colour or unlocked achievement art as their background image, but Microsoft is planning to let players select any image they want a bit later on.

The new Gamer Profiles will allow players to share their location, bio and set up to six clips or achievements to display in a showreel.

Players will also be also to share their chosen Game Clips directly to Twitter, instead of uploading them to OneDrive and manually finding the link.

Trending TV, movies and popular Twitch broadcasts will be featured in a new What's On tab, with content chosen by the Xbox editorial team.

The Xbox One store is also being updatedso that it's easier and quicker to browse.

Xbox One Preview Program members can start checking out the update from today, with everyone else getting it next month.
