Activision: Advanced Warfare can outsell Ghosts
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare can go on to sell more copies than last year's Ghosts, according to Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg.
Pre-orders for this year's COD are reportedly lower than its predecessor, but Hirshberg is confident that Advanced Warfare will beat it in the long run.
"We see purchase intent well above last year and we see engagement with the brand in social media channels all being markedly up, so I'm still optimistic," Hirshberg told GamesIndustry.
He also added that pre-orders aren't a perfect way of judging popularity, as many players now buy their games digitally.
"Pre-orders are a good barometer for day one, but I don't think they reflect the overall demand for the product.
"[They] don't represent what they used to because of the move to digital and all the ways people can buy the game."
