Just Cause 3 announced - heading to PS4, Xbox One and PC

Just Cause 3 has been announced by Avalanche Studios, and it's coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2015.

Expect to see "vastly improved parachute and grapple mechanics", as well as a beautiful Mediterranean setting.

The game had been rumoured for a while now, and Avalanche claimed it had already been in the works for three years before this big reveal.

Thankfully the studio also said Just Cause 3 would not be a free-to-play title, contrary to speculation.

It will also be single-player only, which might dissapoint those who played the Just Cause 2 multiplayer mod last year.

"The mod is absolutely fantastic," said Avalanche co-founder Christofer Sundberg in the latest issue of Game Informer.

"They've actually supported the game and helped it stay alive for so many years after the game was released. It's so fun watching the game being played when you have hundreds of players.

"We'll continue to support the multiplayer mod, but for us the single-player experience is what we're focusing on right now. Maybe sometime down the line we'll take Rico into the world of multiplayer, but right now it's the sandbox experience."

Expect to hear much more about Just Cause 3 in the coming weeks.
