League of Legends EU accounts hacked
Hackers have gained access to personal player data such as email addresses and encrypted account passwords in League of Legends.
The information has been taken from the EU West and EU Nordic & East databases.
Developer Riot Games released a statement on the League of Legends website which read: “Keeping player information secure is very important to Riot. That’s why we’re sorry to share that hackers accessed some player account information.”
Riot said no payment or billing information was accessed in the breach.
The developer has now fixed the security issue and said it’s in the process of notifying all affected players by email.
The statement, concluded by Mark Merrill and Brandon Beck on the League of Legends website, said: “We take your privacy and security seriously, and we’re working diligently to improve it for the better.”
