Kojima reveals chicken hat - no release date
For those that missed it, Hideo Kojima revealed a most bizarre item from upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
On Christmas day Kojima held a three hour live stream which fans had hoped might tease a release date. Instead Kojima very near the end of the stream, and after talking about movies for the most part, revealed a chicken hat.
A chicken hat.
A post from Kotaku suggests the chicken hat will have a purpose, and that is to help you through tougher sections of the game. If you’ve died too many times the game will ask if you’d like to sue the chicken cap. If you say yes, you’ll start wearing the chicken hat and the AI will be dumbed down; they’ll be slower and not notice you as much.
But it’s not just a tool to help you get through the harder sections, it’s also a little bit of a fun thing too. You’ll see it glow in the dark, even though enemies won’t see you at all, but it’s reported that if you choose to wear the hat, then you’ll be stuck with it the whole time. There’s no clue yet as to whether you’d be able to take it off once it’s been equipped.
