Play 2,400 classic MS-DOS games for free
Browser based gaming has become very popular with sites such as Facebook and Google, and it’s not uncommon to see a variety of browser based games. But where did all the classic games go?
Internet Archive, a site run by Jason Scott, has been trying to bring our old school, MS-DOS games back to life in-browser and the library now contains nearly 2,400 classic games.
All the games are free, and all you’ll need is a browser. The website also displays the games as well as the ratings on the front end, so you can easily browse and find what you’re looking for. In addition, if you’ve any problems, there are comprehensive FAQs available for your reference.
Bear in mind that this is run on an emulator (EM-DOSBOX) which is currently in beta, so you might have some issues with some games, but with the variety available, you’re sure to find something nostalgic and fun.
This adds to Internet Archive’s 900 odd coin operated arcade games ant were added late last year. Also free and browser-based.
