Mortal Kombat X - over 100 Brutalities

A new video from Mortal Kombat X developer, NetherRealm, reveals a new way to finish your opponents… Brutalities.

Mortal Kombat vetarens will be familiar with Fatalities and their complicated button combinations to create the most gruesome and elaborate finishing move to polish off a dazed opponent. But Brutalities are quicker and sharper finishing moves - as demonstrated by the trailer below.

There was criticism at the early stages of development that a limited number of finishing moves, the signature of the franchise, would hinder the game and it’s playability, irrespective of the beauty and refined fighting mechanics NetherRealm has lovingly instilled in the game.  NeatherRealm level designer Hans Lo did tell ArabicGamers at GamesCom last year that there would be innovations. 

"The whole idea is trying to take it to a new level. To give something new to the gamers, but have something there that is very familiar and very fun and that expands on the experience." 

The studio held a live stream last night, which you can see below too, and you’ll notice the Brutalities section around the 21 minute mark.

The game will be released across all platforms on April 14 this year.
