Project Cars delayed again
Namco Bandai has announced upcoming race simulator, Project Cars, will be delayed for a third time and has pushed release to May.
The publisher has said the delay was necessary to ensure the game met fans’ expectations when it was released.
The game was due to be released in November of last year, however a month before release it was announced it would be delayed to March of this year, and then to April.
The developer, Slightly Mad Studios; no stranger to the racing genre, released a statement saying that although the game was “99.9% complete, the remaining 0.1%” was proving a little problematic with “issues and bugs [that have] been tricky to anticipate.”
Ian Bell, studio head, said he wanted to thank the fans for their patience and the studio was trying to do its best not to disappoint.
“There’s a high expectancy from racing fans around the world that Project CARS is going to be an exciting new contender in the simulation racing space and we firmly believe gamers deserve it to be in its most complete and polished state when they come to play it on day one.”
As a gesture of goodwill, Bell said the studio would be offering “some free content to all players as compensation for this short delay and as acknowledgment of how grateful we are.”
