Kojima Expected to Leave Konami before 2016
Heido Kojima, the key developer for the Metal Gear Solid series could be leaving Konami, following a fallout between the publisher and Kojima Productions.
An inside source told GameSpot that once the Phantom Pain project is finished, the studio will be dissolved.
"After we finish MGSV, Mr. Kojima and upper management will leave Konami. They said their contract ends in December," the source claimed.
Senior staff including Kojima have become contractors instead of permanent employees. Konami is restricting theaforementioned from accessing corporate emails, internet and phone. Restrictions doesn't stop there, key developers have limited opportunities for game advertisiment.
Moreover, Kojima Productions logo is being removed from MG art, the "Kojima Production" has been removed from Twitter and the official Metal Gear website.
Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain is supposed to be released in the coming September, for current and previous generation consoles fro Sony and Microsft in addition to PC.
