It’s that time of year again; EA has announced it’s upcoming FIFA title, FIFA 16.

FIFA 16 will host a whole load of changes to gameplay, or tweaks, but we expect to find out more at E3.

However, the big news is that it’ll feature 12 national women’s teams that players will be able to experience on the field.

It’s the first time women will feature in the game and the teams are from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, and the USA. Game modes will include Kick off and offline tournaments as well as online friendlies too. There isn’t a FUT or full on tournament modes, but we do expect them to make enhancements and expand features if it goes down well with the gamers.

Friend of the site, David Rutter, the VP and GM, EA SPORTS FIFA said in a press release “[B]ringing some of the best women’s players and teams in the world to our franchise is a massive event for EA SPORTS, and we are equally excited about bringing millions of fans a new way to play.

“We’re making sure fans get an authentic experience when playing with Women’s National Teams thanks to our innovative player capture and reference tools, as well as the sophisticated gameplay platform which we will continue to innovate on in FIFA 16.”

A lot of work has been put into the movement, skill level, class and pace on the women’s teams and we expect to see some interestingly and realistic representations of the teams.

All the women players have been through the same intensive capture procedures as the men so their likeness is as true as possible in-game.

The game will be out later this year, October probably and we’ll have more on this at E3.

For the time being, why not have a look at the trailer below.
