DOOM finally detailed

id Software are back with publishing partner Bethesda and we can expect a brand new DOOM, this time ready for this generation of gamers and consoles. And PC of course.

DOOM is one of the daddy’s of games, it’s one of the first ever first person shooters that established and set the bar for the genre. There have been many rumours of a new DOOM, but with this announcement there is no doubt the daddy’s coming home!

The game will feature a full-on campaign and you’ll be taking on Hell’s “raging demon hordes’ as well as exploring a whole new arsenal of futuristic weapons. You’re job as a the lone DOOM marine, is to take out all Hell can throw at you.

There is also a new, arena combat area for multiplayer modes. You’ll find the standard game modes, but id Software promises a whole new way to play which include power ups and vertical movement. You can even play as a demon…!

Finally, players can create their own version of Hell with the in-game editor called DOOM SnapMap. We expect to hear a lot more about this soon, and it’s not clear whether this will only be for PC or if we can see it on the consoles too.

The game will be available in spring 2016.
