Starcraft II expansion nearly ready

Blizzard has confirmed the next Starcraft II expansion is close to being finished.

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm is “99% done” according to lead designer Dustin Browder.

Browder told Kotaku: “We are 99% done, but that last 1%’s a bitch.”

The game is now fully playable with all missions in place; now the team is adding the final tweaks to turn it into a game they hope fans will love to play.

He added: “There’s something in for everything – it’s whether we like it or not that’s an open question. It’s the tuning and polish that really takes us a long time, and that’s where we get into the unknowns.

“Like we could do a play-through next week and we’re like, ‘Wow this is really great.’ Or we could do a play-through and we still have 250 items we want to fix.”

Browder didn’t give any clues concerning a release date, finishing with: “I don’t know for sure yet when we’ll be done.”
