Xbox SmartGlass SDK out now
Microsoft has released the Xbox SmartGlass Software Development Kit (SDK) for developers.
This will be a free download for partners that have agreements to develop Xbox games or apps for the console.
Features of the SDK include Xbox SmartGlass Studio, JavaScript Library and Sample Code.
SmartGlass is an app to be made available on Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, Apple and Google devices, which lets users stream and synchronise their Xbox Live services.
For instance, users could start watching a movie on their TV before swiping it across to a tablet to watch on the go.
Tablets and phones could also be used for getting information on films - such as cast, crew and storyline - while a film is being played.
SmartGlass will be integrated into games and allow you to use phones and tablets as a remote control.
SmartGlass is set to launch later this year.
