Sony aiming to sell 13million more PS3's
Sony is hoping to offload another 13 million PlayStation 3’s between April 2012 and March 2013.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Jim Ryan revealed the company has set a demanding target but also an achievable one.
Ryan told VideoGamer: “We’re just really focusing on PS3 right now. We’ve got a target, which is a matter of public record, of 13 million units to sell this fiscal year.
“It’s pretty demanding, but given the software that was on display we’ve got a pretty good crack at that.
“I’m given demanding, aggressive numbers to meet, and that’s what I’m focused on right now. I think [SCE Worldwide Studios president] Shuhei Yoshida’s team has given me the tools to do that. I’m going to go out there and nail it.”
This could possibly mean a price cut for the console somewhere down the line.
Sony’s latest figures confirm 63.9 million PS3’s have been sold as of March 2012.
